Thank God for God â⬠Theology Essay
Thank God for God ââ¬â Theology Essay Free Online Research Papers Thank God for God Theology Essay As I was walking down the street the other day, I saw a figure coming toward me dressed in clothes reminiscent of those worn by the Pilgrims.ââ¬Å"Who are you?â⬠I asked, thinking this was a leftover from Halloween, perhaps just now finding his way home. ââ¬Å"I am Thanksgiving,â⬠he replied, tipping his hat and allowing a bedraggled turkey feather to flutter to the ground. ââ¬Å"What are you doing here?â⬠I inquired. ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m trying to let people know that I still exist,â⬠he said. ââ¬Å"They seem to have forgotten about me over the last several years.â⬠Yes, it used to be that Santa Claus arrived on the day after Thanksgiving. Storeowners then began to have ââ¬Å"Santa Clausâ⬠arrive a week or two before Thanksgiving. Now many stores have Christmas decorations and merchandise out right after Halloween. Thanksgiving seems to be lost in the shuffle. But there are still those who remember to give thanks to God for His blessings and goodness to America. I pray that many more Americans will remember God and celebrate Thanksgiving in other ways than by stuffing themselves with everything they can eat and watching eight solid hours of football. Donââ¬â¢t get me wrong, I like food and football, but letââ¬â¢s remember that the first pilgrim Thanksgiving was set aside to celebrate and give thanks to God. Our forefathers proclaimed Thanksgiving a national holiday to give thanks to God. What are you thanking God for on Thanksgiving? My heart was moved during the baseball playoffs this year when during the seventh inning stretch of each game someone was designated to sing, ââ¬Å"God bless America!â⬠It was so moving. May our prayer be ââ¬Å"God, thank You for blessing America. May you continue to shed your grace on America. And make us a blessing to the world.â⬠ââ¬Å"We have a lot to thanks God for. But as I was pondering the theme of Thanksgiving, I realized that most of all, I thank God for God! I thank God for being who He is. The Greeks and Romans had their mythological gods. They were mostly viewed as demanding, vengeful, austere, fickle, and aloof. Many ancient people sculpted their own gods out of silver, gold stone or wood. They worshipped them and tried to appease them, but had no communication or intimate relationship with them. The psalmist declared, ââ¬Å"Their idols are silver and gold, the work of menââ¬â¢s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they but they see not; they have ears but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not; they have hands, but the handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they through their throat. They that make them are like unto them; so is everyone that trusteth in them.â⬠(Psalm 115:4-8) I thank God for God! The God that sees all, that hears and answers prayer, that smells the sweet fragrance of praise and worship, that leads His children by the hand, and allowed His hands and feet to be nailed to the cross for the sins of the world, that walked in the garden of Eden with Adam and Eve, and walks with his children through the valley of the shadow of death, and that speaks to us through His Son, His Living Word, and the voice of the Holy Spirit. I thank God for being God. The God who ââ¬Å"heals the broken hearted, binding up their wounds. He counts the stars and calls them all by name. How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension! The Lord supports the humble, but He brings the wicked down into the dust. Sing out your thanks to the Lord, sing praises to our God, accompanied by harpsâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ (See Psalm 147, NLT) Thank God for being God! He is not a god who is unholy, perverted, capricious, distant, or proud. The true and living God has revealed Himself through His Word. You can know and experience Him personally through His Son, Jesus Christ, who took upon Himself human flesh to show us the Father, and to become a sacrificial Redeemer by His death on the cross. Thank God for being a God of love! ââ¬Å"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.â⬠(John 3:16) Thank God that this awesome God desires an intimate fellowship with you and wants you to live with Him forever! ââ¬Å"Behold, I stand at the door and knock, if any man hears my voice, and opens unto me, I will come into him and sup with him and he with me.â⬠(Revelation 3:20). With thanksgiving, invite the Savior into your heart today. And this Thanksgiving, thank God for being God! ââ¬Å"Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be unto our God forever and ever. Amen.â⬠(Revelation 7:12). Wingtip Toys Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2250 words
Wingtip Toys - Assignment Example Thus, the notion of keeping in touch with all the hardware and software changes all around the globe are the leading driving factors to organizations maintaining their day-to-day updates on Information Technology. One of the major software advancements that go hand in hand with changes in network configurations of several organizations is the Windows Server (Stair & Reynolds, 2012). Windows Server, a server-based operating system provided by the Microsoft Corporation. It offers a significant number of useful services to its targeted users. Among the major uses of Windows Server is the general feature of providing users with a front end where they can perform their daily activities as regards application management and surfing the Internet (Stair & Reynolds, 2012). Furthermore, Windows provides the capability for users to play games or make controls on online applications that are based on other servers usually over the satellite. Over the last few decades, Windows Server 2003 was the most widely used in performing the aforementioned activities all around the globe.... The new one usually focuses on solving major problems that exist in the earlier versions. On the basis of the advancements in features and capabilities in Windows Server 8 Wingtip Toys aims to take a thorough analysis of the Strengths, Weaknesses, and Opportunities and Threats (SWOT) that form the fundamental aspects of this System software. For any network administrator, SWOT analysis of a new hardware or software acts as the focal point to determining the capability of the new feature to meet the expected network security standards in an organization and as per the globally accepted characteristic of a safe networking environment (Dulaney, 2011). As mentioned earlier, Windows Server 2008 is system software of which it will be expected to aid in smoothening the networking activities that go around in Wingtip Toys business organizations and specifically in its need to be connected over satellite based network servers. Thus, the notion of performing a thorough SWOT analysis by a netwo rk administrator is driven solely by the urge of maintaining a secure network environment for the organization (Dulaney, 2011). The (SWOT) Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats analysis is basically built on the idea of figuring out whether or not Windows Server 2008 is more feasible compared to Windows Server 2003. It is basically clear that since Wingtip Toys greatly makes use of the internet in the performance of daily activities, then network security is at the forefront in enhancing security of the hardware devices and Software applications that are used by its clients (Dulaney, 2011). Windows Server 2008 comes in as an upgrade to

Pipeline Project in Canada Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Pipeline Project in Canada - Essay Example However, it needs a Presidential Permit as aforementioned. The projects overall positive effects will be considered. The pipeline project is in accordance firstly with the National Environment Policy Act. However an alternate route still needs to be found to avoid the Sand Hills region of Nebraska, which is an environmentally sensitive area (Flynn & Burnett, 2012). About The Project Many republicans, labor groups and industry groups support the pipeline project as they believe that it would bring about the opportunity of thousands of jobs in the US not only during its construction, but after it as well. It would also reduce dependence on oil from abroad since it would lead to the US having access to the largest oil reserve. Since if the project continues, it would bring in 700,000 barrels of oil to US daily which would be less the price and double the amount that it currently imports from Middle East. It is a project that needs to be ready and started and Republicans do not understan d Obamaââ¬â¢s move for delaying the project (Belogolova, 2011). The project is also estimated to bring in an increase of $20 million spending in private sector of the economy, and at a point where oil demand is weak and unemployment is rising, it will spur the economy. Also, if this project is approved, it will spur all aspects of the economy, which is becoming weaker and more dependent on imports (Belogolova, 2011). During construction of the pipeline alone, there is estimated to be a $20 billion increase in spending in the economy, and 118,000 jobs are expected to be created as well. 585 million dollars are also expected to be raised for both local and state taxes that are going to be on the route of the pipeline (transcanada). Many labor unions have also signed with TransCanada because of the perceived benefits of the project on jobs, employment and revenue. They have even signed terms of agreement with the company however, due to President Obamaââ¬â¢s recall, their jobs ar e not established as of yet. This is also a privately financed project and therefore it will create jobs in manufacturing and construction and doesnââ¬â¢t need a single penny from the government. This effect of increased demand and supply will also have an effect on other factors in the economy as demand for goods and services in other interrelated industries will increase around the area of the pipeline project. This is called the multiplier effect. It has also been established through scrutiny and survey that it would have a limited detrimental impact on the US economy and would rather enhance the security of the economy. Americaââ¬â¢s workers want to work with this project which is important even for President Obama (Parformak, Service., & al, 2011). The four International Unions are also committed to work on this project as soon as the President gives the green light. Canada is a new player in the world energy market with the newly discovered oil sands. The current pipelin e is finding it difficult to keep up with the new discoveries and bulk of oil. Also Canada and U.S are strong trading partners; however Canada is in strong demand now due to this new discovery of oil sands and if US keeps delaying the construction of this pipeline project, Canada will give in to the oil hungry world that seems to show more interest. And these energy sources are a stable energy source and therefor US should realize this and agree soon. This can also break the OPEC hold and if Obama

Civil disobedience Essay Example for Free
Civil disobedience Essay In Ralph Waldo Emersonââ¬â¢s essay ââ¬Å"Self Relianceâ⬠and Henry David Thoreauââ¬â¢s essay ââ¬Å"Civil Disobedience,â⬠both transcendentalist thinkers speak about being individual and what reforms and changes need to be made in a conformist society. Thoreau elaborates more on the relationship between individuality and society and to break free from conformity. Meaning to take a stance and influence man to make a social change. Emerson leans more towards nature and the connection to spirituality. He exclaims that for individuality there has to be some sort of understanding of oneself to make an impact ââ¬â which is the basic nature. He believes that manââ¬â¢s connection to nature is the most valuable source of life because nature is what links man to God, ââ¬Å"the divine providence.â⬠Both authors express the need for individuality in order to possess a strong moral and become whole through their transcendentalist ideals. In Emersonââ¬â¢s ââ¬Å"Self-Reliance,â⬠social responsibility is important. The meaning behind this is that there is a time in manââ¬â¢s life when he will finally realize that he has a purpose, a destiny, and the responsibility to achieve goals as long as there is a tap into spiritual nature. Emerson states, ââ¬Å"The strongest man in the world is he who stands alone,â⬠which references the belief of individualism. Emerson notes that famous men and women are often misunderstood simply because of their opinion, ideas, and thoughts; however, this misunderstanding is why they are so respected. One large point in ââ¬Å"Self Relianceâ⬠is that humans should not conform to society but to be independent in mind. Emerson stresses that one should connect with nature to maintain peace of mind and individual mentality. In ââ¬Å"Civil Disobedience,â⬠Thoreau meets a man while serving time in prison who has been locked away for burning down a barn. Even so, Thoreau sees his cellmate as an honest man by simply trusting his own intuition. Furthermore, Thoreau writes, ââ¬Å"The government is best which governs least,â⬠in lines 2-3, which is based on the belief that people should not conform to society but stay independent and embrace their own beliefs, goals, values, and morals. Both ââ¬Å"Self Relianceâ⬠and ââ¬Å"Civil Disobedienceâ⬠are relevant in modern society because they discourage conformity, which is a big problem in the world today. Humans tend to lean with the majority, but should be taught to stand their ground. Both essays also mention the government and the problems involved in it. Since they were written, government has not improved; it may have even worsened. Government is best when it governs least- that perspective should still be applied to todayââ¬â¢s government. Now, the government tries to constantly control every aspect in everyoneââ¬â¢s life, but like Thoreau states, it should allow its people to decide major issues.

Ensure a Safe Workplace Essay
Chemicals purchase large quantities of cleaning chemicals. These are delivered in 205 liter drums and include solvents, acids and other corrosives, and detergents. These products are decanted by ABC chemicalââ¬â¢s staff into retail size containers (not exceeding 30 liters/kilograms) , re-labelled and shipped in company-badged delivery vehicles to retail outlets throughout the metropolitan area. There is, within 25 meters of ABC chemical, a local nursing home that cares for elderly residents with age-related conditions including dementia. Across the road from the nursing home is a child care center that provides day care for the under 5ââ¬â¢s. ABC chemicals employs some 50 people whose duties include the day-to-day running of the business and decanting of the chemicals into smaller containers. Small spills during the decanting procedures are cleaned up with rags, which are disposed of at the end of the day into the general waste dumpster in the rear yard of the premises. The dumpster is collected by a waste contractor on a weekly basis. The ABC chemicals building was constructed in 2000 and has been fitted with limited emergency equipment. None of the staff has received any training in safe handling of chemicals or how to cope with emergencies and there is no emergency plan displayed in the workplace. ABC chemicals is situated on a busy intersection and there have been several significant vehicle accidents in front of the premises. All empty chemicals drums are stored in the rear yard against the back cyclone fence. These drums are collected on monthly basis and as many as 250 drums can be stored there awaiting collection. Behind the cyclone fence is a large open, overgrown paddock with dry grass, which is owned by the local council. The council has advised ABC chemicals that they wish to build a community center on this site at some time in the near future.

Essay on The Importance of Play in the Education System
Changes in the Education System The focus of the education system has changed drastically in the past twenty-six years. Approximately forty percent of elementary schools have already removed or reduced recess time, or are in the process of doing so, in comparison to the ten percent reported in 1989 (ââ¬Å"Recess and the Importance of Playâ⬠, n.d.). Not only is recess important, but all types of play have been demonstrated to be beneficial to school aged children. Play is essential to healthy development encompassing mental, emotional, and physical well-being in all children. The Main Components of Play Play is classified into four categories that often complement each other. They are broken up into dramatic, manipulative, physical, and creativeâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Finally, under Cooperative Play, all children involved are assigned a particular leadership position and all of the kids involved in the activity work together and create compromises. Play Can Relive Stress Placed on Students In the past few years, national education standards have placed pressure on both teachers and their pupils to excel on high stakes tests and to achieve goals through state standards, such as Common Core and Reading First. Some schools have decided to eliminate recess, and focus purely on academics, in hope to raise test scores and achieve ââ¬Å"academic excellenceâ⬠as Tara Parker-Pope states. Researchers believe that academic pressure placed upon children is linked with adolescent rage, as well as behavior problems in the classroom (Miller, 2009). With the denial or limited amount of recess, students are not given the chance to release their aggression, resulting in melt downs in the class and/or refusal to complete assignments. Play Teaches Important Life Skills On the other hand, play is said to teach children important life skills ranging from communication, to dealing with emotional issues. On the communication side, when children play, games especially, they are practicing communication skills with their peers through negotiating, rule explaining, sharing, waiting for their turn, and so on (Isenberg Jalongo, 2010). When children listen to their peers,Show MoreRelatedThe Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wylde658 Words à |à 3 PagesThrough the comparison of education of the upper and lower classes, juxtaposition is interlaced throughout ââ¬ËThe Importance of Being Earnestââ¬â¢.
