Federal and state law requires that employees not be treated unfairly on the basis of religion (Reuters, 2010). However, it is often difficult to avoid conflicts between work and religion, due to the increase in population diversity. A report from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (2008) has described the significant increase in the number of religious discrimination charges. From this, weve come to realise how important it is for employees and employers to understand each others rights and responsibilities. Religion conflicts within the workplace can arise in a wide variety of context. An example that (Wolf, Friedman, and Sutherland, 1998) mentioned is when an employer denies for an employees request for leave to practice a religious custom, making them choose between career and religion. Another common example in the workplace is when one employee actively promotes their religious views, whilst another colleague finds it insulting and offensive. In this case, whose side should HR managers take, when one employee demands for freedom of speech, while others demand for the emplo yees termination because of what they believe to be as harassment? There are a number of ethical frameworks that can inform us in making ethical decisions. As we seek to address these issues, we will discuss the viewpoints based on the four Cs approach: Character and Culture, Care, Consistency and Consequences. CHARACTER CULTURE Religion and culture are intertwined, in that they both influence and define the set of rules of what is right and wrong. It is through these rules that help shape an individuals character, principles, values, and beliefs. As religion and culture acts as a foundation for individuals to conduct themselves, the policy of banning religion would lead to poor quality of work, as employees are unable to show their true self. Being able to act and perform in a way that reflects the type of character they are. CARE The morality of care stresses the understanding of relationships. Here the policy of banning religion within the workplace could lead to a fall-out amongst the employees and employers. As religion underpin and bonds the relationships between peoples understanding of values and beliefs. CONSISTENCY As part of the role, HR managers should be able to make impartial judgements as to the ultimate rightness and wrongness of conduct and the values to which priority ought to be given in personal, social, and political decision-making (Maclagan, 1998). To become an ethical profession, one must seek to address issues with reasonable behaviour, regardless of the motives or outcomes, as long as it satisfies the set of rules and ethical code of conduct (deontological). If you acknowledge one religion, you need to acknowledge all. For example, if one Catholic at work displays a cross, then the Buddhist may display a Buddha, the Jewish may display the Menorah symbol. So in this case, where do we draw the line? In this situation HR professions should seeks to eliminate all religious practices within the workplace or allo w them all, because inconsistencies in dealing with ethical problems within an organisation can lead to a damage in reputation, and as a result will lead to poor management and other internal problems CONSEQUENCES The principle of maximising utility by maximising benefits over costs (utilitarianism). This theory relates to this issue (banning religion in the workplace) in that the outcome of the policy will immensely benefit the organisation, as it promotes the principle of equality and social justice. RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPLEMENTATIONS In this situation, one of the main roles of HR professions is to establish policies that clearly states that any religion practices within the workplace is prohibited, as to benefiting the interest of the organisation. CEOs should stress this point by creating a statement in the company policy that clearly states that any form of religious discrimination is not acceptable (Mesriani, 2010), and to avoid religious discrimination, no relig ion practices is allowed in the workplace (Mesriani, 2010). However, if the policy creates adversity, or will affect the companys operations, CEOs are required to look into this matter, and re-evaluate the companys performance. Nevertheless, in most cases disputes between employees and employers can be settled through simple negotiation. The actual cause in most conflicts is that people often ignore and overlook things, which leads to miscommunication between the management. 1.3 DRUG TESTING One of the main social, legal, and economic issues in todays society is the use of drugs within the workplace. As employers become more aware of this issue, they have a legitimate reason to prevent this from happening, because the reality for employers is that drugs will affect the employees wellbeing and their ability to produce quality work. As a result, this will lead to poor quality of work and will damage the companys reputation. The introduction of employee drug testing will assist HR managers and CEOs in many ways. One of the benefits is that it shows how much the company values the health and safety of its employees, not only that it also encourages its employees with substance abuse problem to seek treatment, recover, and return to work. However, as HR professions, they should ensure that the implementation of employee drug testing should not violate the employees privacy. The tests must respect the dignity and rights of the person to be tested. The employee should n ot be forced, but make their own decisions (Shaw, 2009). Here the following ethical framework (the four Cs approach) will help us in determining the outcome of this particular issue drug testing. CHARACTER AND CULTURE An organisations culture plays a vital role in shaping the way an employee acts and behave, as their beliefs and values reflects the companys overall corporate values and performance goals. The result of the drug test will help HR managers in determining the type of character that they are. If the drug test happens to be positive, then the employee is deemed to be clean and honest. On the other hand, if the result is negative the employee is proved to be a dishonest and unreliable character CARE Employers have the right to know the health and wellbeing of its employees because the organisation is directly responsible for any harm that is done to its employees within the workplace. Managers who have some knowledge of drug use in the workplace will gain a better understanding of its employees, as to why they are using it and how they can help to prevent this from happening to other fellow team members. CONSISTENCY HR managers should ensure that all drug testing are consistent amongst the different levels of management, despite of their roles or position. As the use of drug in the workplace affects the way in which employees interact with their fellow members and customers, a uniform structure will prevent inconsistencies in the results and findings. CONSEQUENCES Whether the results are positive or negative, the employees should know the outcome of taking drugs, and they must face the consequences of their actions. Should they be dismissed immediately and be charged with criminal charges? Or should they be allowed to go to rehabilitation and be given a second chance and retain their positions? As we ask these questions, lets weigh the cost of a companys high absenteeism, high medical cost, accidents, and injuries, in co mparison to a policy that monitors the use of drugs amongst employees on a regular basis. The implementation of this policy may not significantly impact the entire organizations operations, but to some extent a few employees will find it intruding to their privacy. RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPLEMENTATIONS One of the main obligations of HR managers is their duty of care towards their employees, being able to know that theyre working in a safe working environment. As the organisation implements drug testing, CEOs should set objectives and specify the expectations and consequences of violating the policy. Moreover, in order for the policy to be effective HR managers should ensure that the drug testing is consistent; this means that everyone is equal regardless of their roles or positions. Also, the information that is sought about each individual should be kept confidential, and should only be access by given authority. 1.4 PERSONALITY PROFILING Personality profiling is the way of understanding how an individual tends to behave in an environment which helps the company to maximise the individual performance and his contribution to the company (Jirli, 2010). The introduction of Personality profiling could benefit organisations and assist HR managers in developing team work, as it acts as a tool for recruitment staff in determining the best match for that particular job. However, as Trull (2005) states Gaining an understanding of motives or the dynamics of personality is virtually impossible using most objective assessment since the questions is generally behavioural in nature. As we seek to address this issue, the four Cs approach will assist us in assessing the significance of this issue of personality profiling. CHARACTER AND CULTURE Employers have a legitimate claim upon any information that is relevant to an employee, as they are contracted to perform specific roles within the organisation. However, because the personal information identifies what type of character the employee is, HR managers should keep each profile restricted to a certain level. The profiling of the job applicant will guide assessors on how to distribute the tasks amongst the team, based on an individuals qualities, background, culture, qualifications and behaviour. CARE Personality profiling amongst employees has allow managers to pay attention to specific aspects of an employees life. This means that, in certain circumstances managers are able to interact one on one with the employee with the aim of helping the employee out with their problems. Since, one of the roles of HR managers is to take reasonable care to avoid acts or omissions that would likely injure a person (Raniolo, Ellison, N.A). The act of doing so would prevent unnecessary trouble CONSISTENCY One of the main things that HR managers try to avoid is to discriminate or show favouritism and prejudice towards one employee, particularly i n this situation. As professions, managers must be very cautious and avoid being bias because this will affect productivity and trust between employees and managers. Hence, HR managers should not judge the performance of a particular employee based on a certain characteristic or aspect of their profile, for example, religion, background, or appearance. CONSEQUENCES Establishing a personality profiling policy may benefit the organisation in that they get a better understanding of the individuals. However, the result of this may be inaccurate which in the long term may have a negative impact on both the employees and employers. For example, two people may mark that they drink more than 3 glasses of alcohol a night. Does this mean that they both drink for the same reason? One may drink in order to get to sleep, while the other is depressed and another may party every night. There are so many possibilities as to what the motives for ones actions RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPLEMENTAT IONS There are countless obligations for HR managers and CEOs in this particular situation. However, the key question here is Would personality profiling result in an inaccurate perception of the life and role of the profiler? As a result, the findings of this field may attract individuals who are poorly suited to competent practice. CEOs should diligently try to make business decisions and take actions that are guided by their values or moral code. However, human behaviour is probabilistic not deterministic (Miller, 2003). Therefore, personality profiling can only be used as a starting point. CEOs need to understand how this practice may benefit or harm the organisation, both short and long terms and HR managers should determine on how personality profiling can help the individual adapt to the organisations culture. 1.5 CONCLUSION The implementation of new policies within the workplace and the banning religion within the workplace is a delicate issue that must be handled properly. Communication to the employees is critical as well as employee involvement in the implementation of any kind of policy formation. HR managers must be able to foresee problems that might occur including those ethical issues that may arise and CEOs should develop strategic plans to prevent any conflict that may occur between an employee and an employer. On the other hand, employees should be encouraged to realise their personal responsibilities under their contract, particularly those who deal with personal information on a regular basis. The policies and procedures must be clearly stated and followed for an organisation to be properly protected. Employee contracts should state that the organisations policies are fundamental to the employers business and must be adhered to at all times. Failure to adhere to policies should be spec ified to be a breach of the employees terms and conditions of employment which could lead to dismissal on the ground of misconduct. Procedures should be implemented by employers for employees to ask questions about any policy in operation. Who Invented Tablet Computers

Believe it or not, tablet computers did not begin with the Apple iPad. Just like how smartphones were around before the iPhone, manufacturers had been tinkering with variations on the concept of keyboard-free mobile computers for years prior to the arrival of the portable piece of technology that has since come to set the standard. For example, Apple, for their part, had released two earlier products that never quite caught on.    Though a fairly recent advancement, visions of a notepad style computer existed long before people even had home computers. They were used aboard the USS Starship Enterprise when â€Å"Star Trek: The Original Series† was launched in 1966 and casually depicted in scenes in Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 classic film â€Å"2001: A Space Odyssey.† Similar portable devices were also mentioned in older novels such as Foundation, where author Isaac Asimov described a type of calculator pad. One million pixels The first serious idea for a real-life tablet computer came from the imaginative mind of American computer scientist Alan Kay. His concept, the Dynabook, was published in 1972 and detailed a personal computing device for children that functioned similarly to a personal computer. In advocating for the feasibility of such a technology, there were suggestions on which sort of existing hardware components could work inside, which included various types of screens, processors and storage memory. As he envisioned it, the Dynabook weighed about two pounds, came in a thin form factor, featured a display boasting at least a million pixels and had a nearly unlimited power supply of power. It also included a stylus. Keep in mind, however, just how far fetched and grandiose his idea likely seemed at the time. The notion of home computing was still quite novel and laptops, of course, had yet to be invented. Like smartphones,  the early tablets were bricks The GRidPad, the first tablet pc to hit the consumer marketplace, did eventually debut decades later courtesy of Grid Systems, one of the earliest Silicon Valley startups. Prior to its 1989 release, the closest thing were products known as graphics tablets, essentially input devices that connected to a computer workstation and allowed for different forms of interfacing such as drawing, animation and graphics through the use of a stylus. These systems, often used in place of a mouse, included the likes of the Pencept Penpad, the Apple Graphics Tablet and the KoalaPad, which was geared toward schoolchildren. As the first coming of tablet computers, the GRidPad wasn’t quite what Alan Kay had in mind. It weighed almost five pounds and was rather bulky. The screen was a far cry from the million-pixel benchmark that Kay set forth and was barely capable of displaying in grayscale. Still, it widely picked up by large companies and government agencies that used it to help streamline record keeping. The GRidPad cost about $3,000 with software and, during its most successful year, the company moved $30 million worth of product. Also significant was that one of the company’s engineers, Jeff Hawkins, would eventually go on to found Palm Computing, one of the largest makers of Personal Digital Assistants.         Ã‚   PDAs: when tablets were simpler Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) could hardly be considered tablet PCs relative to the functional wizardry offered up by products currently on the market. But during the early 90’s, they largely fit the bill with sufficient processing power, graphics and a fairly substantial portfolio of applications. The leading names during this era were Psion, Palm, Apple, Handspring and Nokia. Another term often used in reference to this form of technology was â€Å"pen computing.†   Ã‚   Whereas the GRidPad ran on a version of the archaic MS-DOS, pen computing devices were among the first commercial products to wed portable computing with consumer friendly operating systems. In 1991, Go Corporation demonstrated how this kind of integration can make for a more seamless experience with the launch of the PenPoint OS on IBM’s Thinkpad 700T. Soon, more established players such as Apple, Microsoft and later Palm begin putting out competing pen computing platforms. Apple debuted their OS inside the Apple Newton Messenger, considered by some to be the predecessor to the iPad.   Ã‚   Stumbling out of the block: the first true tablets As PDAs proliferated among the consumer masses throughout the 90’s, there were a few novel, but ultimately doomed attempts to produce a true tablet that would appeal to the mainstream. For instance, Fujitsu launched in 1994 the Stylistic 500 tablet, which featured an intel processor and came with windows 95 and followed it up two years later with an improved version, the Stylistic 1000. Not only were the tablets heavy and impractical to lug around, they had a sizable price tag to match ($2,900).   Ã‚   That might have all changed in 2002 had the newly released Windows XP Tablet lived up to the hype. Introduced at the 2001 Comdex technology trade show, Microsoft founder Bill Gates proclaimed tablets to be the future and predicted that the new form factor would become the most popular form of PC within five years. Its ultimately failed, partly due to  the  underlying  incompatibility of trying to shoehorn  the  keyboard-based Windows OS into  a purely touchscreen device, which resulted in  a less intuitive  user experience.   The iPad gets it right It wasn;t until 2010 that Apple put out a tablet pc that offered a tablet experience that people have longed for. Granted, Steve Jobs and company had laid the groundwork earlier by getting an entire generation of consumers to become accustomed to intuitive touchscreen typing, gestures and making use of applications with the wildly successful iPhone. It was slim, lightweight and had sufficient battery power for hours of consumption. By then, it’s iOS operating system was well-matured to where the iPad ran on essentially the same platform. And like the iPhone, the iPad dominated the newly re-imagined tablet category early on. Predictably, a barrage of copycat tablets ensued, many of which ran on the competing Android operating system. Microsoft would later find its footing in the crowded market with touch-friendlier Windows tablets, many of which are able to convert to small and light laptops. Thats currently where stand today, three operating systems to choose from and a tablet selection  that comes in several shapes and sizes.

For this project o had to think of person whom I knew was at least 60 and that I was comfortable enough talking to. The person who best fit this criterion was my neighbor George West. Mr. West was born in June of 1941, and is 73 years old, he has served in the Vietnam War, was a detective for the CIA for a little bit, and then decided to settle down with his family here in El Dorado Hills. He as a very interesting past that I would would be really interesting to talk about and learn about. I talked with Mr. West at length about his experiences and perspective in the war, and how this had a direct influence on him today, and what it was like seeing history occur before his eyes, and social trends of today are seen by him. Teachers are important for the child’s education and they can make a positive impact or a negative impact. One of the things that I learn in this course was the about the Code of ethics of the education profession. I have heard about this but I had not seen it the way the book presents it. I learned that in the professions such as teaching, an underlying principle of that moral code is that those in the profession act in accordance with the well-being of the client in mind rather than personal concerns or satisfaction (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). I see this as a way to protect the student values; the code of ethics will encourage the teacher to treat the student in an ethical and responsible way. Teachers have to treat a student with respect and should not take advantage of the students because of their position. A teacher influences the lives of students not only academically but morally and ethically through the teacher’s actions (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). I also learned about teaching in a world of change, I have not taught in a regular classroom many years, but I had seen many of the new ways of teaching. Teachers have to be well-prepared and have a curriculum where they include their entire student regardless of language or mental impediment. It is a challenge for teachers to concentrate not just every child’s learning style, but in all children with special needs as well. A subject that I am familiar with is child abuse and neglect. Teachers responsibility is not only to teach but to help reduce child abuse and neglect, there are so many children dying each year because of abuse. Teachers can feel overwhelm with this kind of responsibility but they are the ones that are with the child most of the day, they are the ones that are closer to the students besides their parents. Reviewing about this subject is a reminder of how important this subject is for the child’s personal life. Another of the things that capture my attention and I am familiar with is the issue about homework and learning. When I was in school I remember we did not had an issue about how much homework was too much. Many of the things that I learned in this course and the pass courses have helped me be a more effective teacher. I attend a multicultural church where they are children from different places, some are non-speaking English others are English speaking only. When I prepared my class I have to remember that all my children are different but yet I need to treat them the same. I need to prepare my class thinking of every student, they all have different learning styles and in order to capture everyone’s attention I need to make sure I have a well-prepared class. This course has also helped me because I have to teach children with disabilities such as ADD or ADHD, this is a small church school where we don’t have the teachers that we need and all the resources that the schools have, so I have to manage to deal with the students all by myself. And I have to also think of them when I prepare my class. We also have to deal with children that are abused or neglected as well. We have to go to homes and talk to parents and children when there are problems at home. We see these problems mostly in parents that work two jobs or families with single parents. Are the students really filing pressure because of the load of homework that they have? It seems like now a days there is not enough time to do everything we plan. As the book states homework have benefits, it is more likely to improve achievements when teachers take time to explain the purpose of the assignment. Another question that I would generate regarding this material would be about assessments. Do assessments really determine if the students have learned? What are the benefits of so many assessments throughout the year? The book states that one reason for good assessment are that it helps the teacher evaluate the effectiveness of her teaching, it helps the teacher indentify individuals who might be having difficulty learning and among others it helps form the basis for grading and students evaluation (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). But what happens if the student was having a bad day and he score low in a placement test, is the student placed in a regular class rather than an advance one? The last question would be how is the separation between church and State affecting the school system? In the book it states that many religious leaders have long viewed the teaching of evolution versus intelligent design (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). How come schools can have books where they talk about having two mommies or two daddies instead of living with mommy and daddy, but it is wrong to talk about God? One of the subjects that really caught my attention was the subject about diversity. Diversity has impacted teaching in many ways. Diversity includes ethnic diversity, language diversity and ability diversity (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). One of the benefits of having a diversity class is that it gives teaches as well as the students the opportunity to learn from each other, they will learn about each student’s cultures, values and beliefs. President Bush emphasized a deep concern that our schools were having, this was that too many of our neediest children are being left behind, so he developed No Child Left Behind. According to the Department of Education the assessment results and State progress objectives must be broken out by poverty, race, ethnicity, disability, and limited English proficiency to ensure that no group is left behind (U. S. Department of Education, 2001). Diversity has caused a great impact in education. In order to be an effective teacher, he or she must offer quality teaching, Teachers need to develop a well-develop curriculum where all the class can be involved and where non-English students can feel a desire to learn. Having a well-organized classroom is also important for the student; teachers can put up pictures of different countries or different areas of the world in order to make the student feel important. In the book it states that teachers mush established a culturally responsive environment where all the students are giving the opportunity to learn, this includes encouraging acceptance of students’ native speech patterns and acknowledging the cultural heritages of all ethnic groups and developing ethnic and cultural pride (Armstrong, Henson, Savage, 2009). Talking about this issue made me feel upset at the beginning because many of the students agree that illegal immigrants were breaking the law and they did not deserve to be giving the opportunity to get any grants to study in United States. There are so many smart children out here that if they could they would take advantage of any opportunity they were giving to educate themselves. For many of these students school is a privilege, they have to work hard in order to earn a degree, but if these students do not have the funds to educate themselves it’s like a putting a brick wall in front of their future. Most children on low income societies cannot afford costly books, computers, or laboratories. In such societies, bare literacy is sometimes all that the people can afford (Vikas, S. , 2009). According to the National Center for Educational Statistics the status dropout rates for Whites, Blacks, and Hispanics declined between 1980 and 2007. However, for each year during that period, the status dropout rate was lower for Whites and Blacks than for Hispanics, although dropout rates have decline in the last years (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2009). I believe Hispanics rates in drop out are always going to be higher because of the lack of funds these students have in order to continue with their education. Unless there is program that permits Hispanics, that cannot afford education because of their legal status, to keep on studying for free beyond high school, these students will not see an open door and they will keep on dropping from High Schools. It made me sad to know that many of the student drop out before finishing high school, but I see why they do it. Many of them do not see a future, why are they going to keep on going, why finish the race when they know there is no trophy for them at the end of the race. Many of them drop out and preferred to work at a restaurant or a construction site where they know they are going to earn money instead of â€Å"wasting† their time in school. Education should be a right for everyone that has the desire to study, for everyone that has the desire to learn and better their future. Many times students don’t get out of the poverty level because they are not giving the opportunity to better themselves while others take education opportunities for granted. Speech and Language Impairment is one of the disabilities that teaches spend more time instructing about. No matter what the students disability is they need to be treated fairly and they should all be praised equally, teachers should never put a student down because of their impediment or disability, this can interfered with the student’s ability to learn. This course has taught me how education is changing over time; I can see a clear perspective on how teachers need to teach today. I am able to see that technology is one of the main changes that have happen throughout the year but technology is just another tool for teacher to teach. Technology is something that children are growing with and teachers need to implement technology in their classrooms. Everything that I learned in this course will be able to help me understand the way children are educated. What to expect to see in a classroom, such as computers, projectors, tech board and other tech materials. I should also expect to see the diversity of students. Recognizing each child’s background and making it important in the teacher’s life is necessary for every child. It is important to recognize and understand how to meet the needs of language diversity students. Teachers should model a positive perspective by creating a positive learning environment and building on first language competencies and developing a community of learners (Otto, 2010). All the principles that I learned about in this course would be able to help me in the road to become a better and an effective teacher. I can see that education is totally different in than 20 years ago. Introducing technology in classrooms is a â€Å"must† in order to prepare our children to be valuable to society. Teaching a diversity class is something that teachers need to prepare for because the reality is that most of our schools are in diversity communities. There are times when he thinks he will never make it home. But through perseverance, faith, maturation and heroics, he manages to survive and reach his homeland of Ithaca as a changed man. In The Odyssey, Odysseus, the main character must journey from Troy to his homeland of Ithaca. Throughout this journey he learns many lessons, faces obstacles testing his physical and mental strength and grows from an arrogant, self-centered hero into a humble, respectful survivor. With the help of the Gods he is finally able to return to Ithaca as an honorable man. In Book VI of the Odyssey, Odysseus wakes on the shore of Phaecia. The Goddess Athena has sent the beautiful Nausicaa a dream instructing her to wash clothes in preparation for an upcoming marriage. Athena makes Nausicaa brave and Odysseus handsome bringing them together in order to assist Odysseus to the house of the king. In this particular book the Gods assist Odysseus and he manages to come closer to getting home. Athena helps him out over and over again in Book VI. Everything seems to be done to help Odysseus and so he is lucky to have the Gods behind him. "but the grey-eyed Goddess Athena made her tarry, so Odysseus might behold her beauty and win her guidance to the town" (175). Here Odysseus is actually being led where he needs to go by Athena indirectly. All the places with lush greenery and the resting-place of Odysseus has even been made by Athena. "The sun was going down when they went by Athena's grove" (181). The manipulation by the Gods appears to lead t a common goal, the survival of Odysseus and the assistance of getting him home. The gods may not be able to stop fate but they help Odysseus learn to use their guidance to his advantage for his survival. In Book VIII, King Alkinoos calls an assembly asking the Phaeacians to help Odysseus. During this meeting there is competition to entertain Odysseus. After being insulted by one of the Phaeacians, ""The reason being, as I see it, friend, you never learned a sport, and have no skill in any of the contests of fighting men" (185). With that, Odysseus throws a discus farther than anyone ever has. "Anyone else for an edge for competition try me now" (186) This proves Odysseus has a problem with his pride. Although this pride does help him throughout his journey, he uses it here as a vice to show others his greatness. His arrogance really shows through here. By insulting his abilities, Phaeacians insulted his manhood and he defended it to the highest degree. In Book IX, Odysseus encounters the Kyklops and uses his cunningness and bravery to escape. Here we see a new side of Odysseus. First he vividly narrates his love for his home in this book. "I shall not see on earth a place more dear" (198). "Where shall a man find sweetness to surpass his own home and his parents (198)? Odysseus seems able to survive by using all his energy to find his way home. He uses this energy in his plot to get away from the Kyklops. His plan is both brave and ingenious. He tells the Kyklops his name is Nohbdy. Then after being blinded, Odysseus and his men are able to escape. The Kyklops yells to his friends, "Nohbdy, Nohbdy tricked me, Nohbdy's ruined me" (207)! With this, he gets no help and Odysseus is free. However again his pride gets the best of him for as they are escaping he yells, "If ever a mortal man inquire how you were put to shame and blinded, tell them Odysseus, raider of cities, took your eye" (210). This again proves to hurt Odysseus and make s his journey more difficult. His foolishness proves to be a thorn in his side throughout The Odyssey. By revealing his name he sets himself up for the angry God Poseidon. In Book X, foolishness again causes Odysseus trouble. As his Odyssey seems almost over and the men are close
